Dragami Games has announced that the upcoming Switch 2 version of Lollipop Chainsaw has been delayed. Originally planned for a November release, the port is now scheduled to arrive in “early 2026.”
According to the studio, the delay stems from the overwhelming number of requests for a physical edition of the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP remaster. To ensure both digital and physical copies launch together, the team decided to postpone all versions to next year.
“We sincerely apologize for the extended wait and any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your understanding and continued support,” Dragami said in its announcement.
James Gunn—now co-CEO of DC Studios and the director of the recent Superman reboot—co-wrote the original game’s story, which was co-directed by Goichi Suda, also known as Suda51. However, neither creator was involved in the development of the RePOP remaster.
The RePOP edition first launched in 2024 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, introducing updated visuals and faster-paced chainsaw combat. For those unfamiliar, the game follows Juliet Starling, a high school student who blends cheerleading with zombie-slaying.
The Switch 2 continues to perform exceptionally well, recently surpassing 10 million units sold, making it Nintendo’s fastest-selling console ever. It’s also on track to pass the Nintendo DS to become the company’s best-selling system of all time.
