In October, Bethesda revealed Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, a new release marking a decade since the game’s original launch. Positioned as the definitive version of Fallout 4, the update quickly faced backlash after players reported widespread bugs, crashes, and performance issues across multiple platforms.
Following that response, Bethesda has now confirmed that a new patch is scheduled for November, with a larger update planned for December. The studio shared the patch notes through social media, thanking players for their ongoing feedback while outlining the team’s current priorities.
While Bethesda’s message did not directly address criticism of the Anniversary Edition, the developer stated that the upcoming update focuses on resolving DLC installation problems, reducing crashes, and improving overall user experience. Stability issues related to save files and the Creations system are also a major area of focus.

The studio also confirmed that a long-requested mod storage expansion for console versions of Fallout 4 is still planned, though it will not arrive with the November patch. Bethesda noted that additional development time is required before the feature is ready for release.
Details about the December update will be shared closer to its release window. Bethesda said that patch will build on the stability work being introduced in November.
In addition to technical fixes, Bethesda announced that several free Fallout 4 Creations will be released for players. The first of these, titled The Varmint Rifle, is expected to arrive next week. Players will need to locate a hidden manhole, solve a series of environmental puzzles, and fight through enemy-controlled areas to obtain the weapon.
Bethesda has not yet announced an exact release date for the November patch. However, the full patch notes outline a wide range of crash fixes, save-load improvements, and user interface updates aimed at addressing the most common player complaints.
The update also includes improvements to the Creations menu, ensuring load orders are respected correctly and preventing softlocks that previously occurred when navigating the menu repeatedly.
With both stability fixes and new content planned, Bethesda appears to be taking steps toward addressing the rocky launch of Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, though players will need to wait to see whether the upcoming patches fully resolve the issues.
