Super Mario Galaxy Movie: Becoming Rosalina Is A "Dream Come True" For Brie Larson

Rosalina voice actress Brie Larson is apparently very good at keeping secrets. The Captain Marvel star revealed that she filmed a video back in May at the grand opening of Super Nintendo World in Orlando, where she excitedly talked about landing the role of the cosmic princess in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

On Instagram, Larson shared a video and several photos from the moment. Hiding inside a warp pipe, she said, “I'm going to be in the next Super Mario movie. It’s called Super Mario Galaxy, and I play Rosalina. It is an absolute dream come true.”

Nintendo and Universal officially announced Larson’s casting during a recent Nintendo Direct. The presentation also featured the first trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which introduces Benny Safdie as the voice of Bowser Jr. and includes numerous Easter eggs for longtime fans.

Larson herself is a long-time Mario devotee. She has previously talked about kicking out a boyfriend who complained she was taking the final level in Super Mario Galaxy too seriously, and she has also appeared in a Nintendo Switch ad campaign.
