Six years after Fortnite first crossed over with Stranger Things, the hit Netflix series is once again making its presence felt in Epic Games’ battle royale. With the fifth and final season of Stranger Things set to begin next week, a new wave of characters is entering Fortnite just in time for the show’s farewell.
This time around, the spotlight is on Mike, Dustin, Will, and Lucas, who are joining Fortnite through the Blitz Royale mode. Notably absent from this lineup are fan favorites like Max, Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, and Robin, suggesting Epic Games is focusing specifically on the core group from the show’s early seasons.
Newly released artwork shows the four characters standing against a haunting backdrop of Hawkins, where multiple portals to the Upside Down have opened. Vecna, the primary antagonist of Stranger Things, looms in the background, reinforcing the darker tone tied to the show’s final chapter.
These Upside Down visuals will be incorporated into the Stranger Things-themed Blitz Royale map, while the new character skins are expected to arrive in the in-game shop later today. Older Stranger Things cosmetics—such as Eleven, Jim Hopper, and the Demogorgon—are not currently available, but they are widely expected to return given the renewed collaboration.
Fortnite is still wrapping up its limited-time Simpsons-themed content, which runs until November 29. That event has already introduced a towering, shirtless Homer Simpson skin that quickly became one of the game’s most talked-about additions.
Following the Simpsons crossover, Fortnite’s next major chapter will usher in Chapter Seven, which is set to introduce The Bride from Kill Bill. Rumors also suggest that future collaborations could include major pop culture franchises such as Harry Potter, James Bond, and even Back to the Future, with Marty McFly reportedly tied to the upcoming Battle Pass.
While Epic Games has yet to confirm all of these rumored crossovers, Fortnite’s ongoing run of high-profile collaborations shows no signs of slowing down. As Stranger Things prepares to close out its story on Netflix, its return to Fortnite feels like a fitting sendoff—bringing Hawkins, the Upside Down, and its young heroes back into the spotlight one last time.
