Gallery 13's premium omnibus editions see over 60% discount through Amazon's Buy Two, Get One Free promotion, bringing 2,000-page saga to $115.
The 800-page Beginnings Omnibus chronicles Roland Deschain's coming-of-age story as the last gunslinger.
Amazon's early Black Friday book sale slashed prices on Gallery 13's complete Dark Tower graphic novel trilogy, marking the deepest discount since the premium hardcovers launched in 2023. The three omnibus editions—The Beginnings, The Gunslinger, and The Drawing of the Three—totaling 2,000 pages now cost $114.73 combined through the retailer's Buy Two, Get One Free promotion, down from the original $300 retail price.
Marvel's ambitious 2007 adaptation attempted to translate King's sprawling eight-novel, 4,720-page epic into sequential art form under the author's creative supervision. While the publisher canceled the project before completing the full narrative arc, the collected editions preserve 15 graphic novels spanning Roland's backstory and the first two mainline books, featuring artwork from a rotating team of illustrators including Jae Lee and Richard Isanove.
The Beginnings Omnibus stands out as essential reading for franchise veterans, expanding flashback sequences from the novels into five full-length prequels detailing Roland's transformation from Gilead nobleman to post-apocalyptic wanderer. The 800-page volume chronicles pivotal events only referenced in King's original text, including The Battle of Jericho Hill and The Fall of Gilead.
"Marvel canceled the ambitious adaptation before it could reach its proper conclusion. Thus, The Complete Graphic Novel Saga is both correct and incorrect."
Gallery 13's production values elevate the material beyond standard comic reprints, with high-quality binding, archival paper stock, and dust jackets featuring metallic foil accents. Each omnibus preserves the original panel layouts and coloring rather than reformatting for collected editions, maintaining the intended reading experience across the 15 constituent volumes.
The promotion extends to the complete Dark Tower novel series, with Scribner's eight-book box set discounted to $100 from $161 and eligible for additional B2G1 savings. Amazon's sale catalog includes 13 other King titles spanning graphic novels like the DC Compact Edition of American Vampire, recent hardcover releases The Long Walk and The Running Man, and box sets collecting the Bill Hodges trilogy and Gwendy series.
King published The Gunslinger in 1982 through Scribner, concluding the mainline saga in 2004 with The Dark Tower before returning for interquel The Wind Through the Keyhole in 2012. The 30-year publishing arc established the series as his longest narrative work, blending Western, horror, and post-apocalyptic fantasy elements into what the author has described as his magnum opus connecting thematic threads across his broader bibliography.
