GAMING NEWS

Battlefield Studios is outlining its future plans for Battlefield 6, detailing all the balance changes and adjustments coming in the next two updates—and beyond.

In a post shared on the official Battlefield Comms X account, the team says they’ve been listening closely to player feedback and are “hard at work on how we will evolve the experience.”

The first round of major changes arrives with the November 18 California Resistance update, introducing a new California map plus an additional weapon and vehicle.

The update will include a full tuning pass for weapon dispersion and recoil buildup. These adjustments apply to all weapons and aim to improve consistency—especially at longer ranges.

“These changes make weapons feel smoother and more consistent,” Battlefield Studios writes.

Aim assist is also receiving updates aimed at replicating the feel of the game’s open beta. According to the team, aim assist will now “feel smoother and more predictable.”

Player visibility is another point of improvement. Battlefield 6’s aggressive sunlight and sharp indoor-to-outdoor transitions have made spotting enemies difficult. The November 18 update will introduce lighting adjustments to increase visibility across various conditions. Challenge descriptions will also be updated for clarity.

December 9 Update Plans

The next patch, arriving December 9, will adjust Breakthrough and Rush modes on several maps, with the first sector of Mirak Valley receiving notable improvements to help attackers progress.

Rush mode will see MCOM placement adjustments on Manhattan Bridge and Liberation Peak. Vehicle balance changes are also planned.

Future Development Priorities

Looking further ahead, Battlefield Studios outlined several longer-term improvements under investigation:

  • Challenge updates
  • UI and menu improvements
  • Hit registration adjustments
  • Vehicle balance changes
  • New map designs

The size of Battlefield 6’s maps has been a common complaint. The studio says it is “committed to a variety of map types across future seasons” and will continue learning from community-made Portal maps.

Updates Coming to Battlefield Redsec

Regarding Battlefield Redsec, the game’s free-to-play battle royale mode, the team is evaluating:

  • A solo queue option
  • Changes to the armor-plating system
  • Tank availability and balancing
  • Audio improvements for clearer footsteps and vehicle sounds

Battlefield 6 launched strong, with estimates showing it has sold over 10 million copies. The most recent patch removed the game’s most notorious exploit, and EA recently released a new Veterans Day DLC pack.
